The A2 Licence allows you to ride ANY motorcycle with 33bhp or less. This includes more powerful bikes that have had power restrictors fitted.
The power resriction is automatically lifted 2 years after passing your test.
In order to sit your A2 (Restricted Licence) test you must:
- Be at least 17 years of age.
- Successfully complete the CBT course.
- Pass the motorcycle theory test (the car theory test does not count!)
- Sit your practical tests on a motorcycle with an engine size of 125cc capable of 64 mph (100kph).
We can arrange the theory test for you, and even loan you the studying materials, all this is included in the course price.
We also arrange the practical tests for you, we will discuss these in more detail when you book. The test fees are also included in our course price.
The A2 course is tailored to suit your level of experience.
If you do not already hold a CBT, that would be your first stage of training (or a free introduction lesson, followed by CBT). This first stage entitles you to ride as a learner with L-plates.
The next stage would be to take those skills and develop them further (or in other words, take you from CBT standard to test standard and beyond!)
A quick guide to the different lessons:
'Road Rider 1' : Road riding (quite obviously!), Classroom briefing and Module 1 Training.
'Road Rider 2' : Road riding (again, the clue is in the name!) You will spend all day on the road during this course (obviously there will be occasional breaks).
If you have not previously passed your car test you will probably need more that these two days training to give us time to build your on road experience. Additional training is easy, just book another "Road Rider 2"!
Once you have completed the training, you will sit the two tests. We prefer to book these for seperate days, but please feel free to discuss this.
