Yes |
No |
I have a full bike licence |
I don't know! have I failed already?
There are different courses available to you depending on your age...
Q2: How old are you?
16 |
17-20 |
21 or over
17 to 20 Years old -
In this age range you have 2 main choices.
Option 1 : Take you CBT, and ride upto a 125cc with 'L' Plates. (other Learner restrictions also apply)
Option 2 : Book on an A2 course, take your test and have the ability to carry passengers, ride on Motorways and most importantly, get rid of the L-plates! The A2 licence does have a 33bhp power restriction for the first 2 years, but this limit is automatically lifeted, you do not need to resit a test.
Which ever route you decide to take, the CBT is the first stage of any training course. If you are looking to take your test this will allow us to assess how much further training you are going to need.
Before taking the CBT, we recommend the Free Introduction lesson, this will enable us to teach you the basics of bike control that will make getting through the CBT much easier
Q3: Do you wish to ride with or without L-Plates?
I'll Keep the L-plates (and stick to a learner bike) |
I'd rather not ride with L-plates (I want the option of a bigger bike)
17 to 20 Years old - (A2 test) Full Licence with power restriction -
If you want to ride a larger bike or you do not want to keep renewing your CBT every 2 years, the A2 test is for you.
You take the tests on a 125cc motorcycle and get a licence which enables you to ride any size or capacity of bike, but it must be restricted to 33bhp (restrictor kits are available for most bikes), 2 years after passing your test this restriction is lifted.
You do not need to retake your test later!
