Abbey Rider Training is the only local training school to offer a FREE introduction lesson as standard for novice riders on geared motorcycles.

If you have never ridden before, why spend a lot of money on a course before you've even tried it? The introduction lesson is a great place to start.

There are several ways of looking at this lesson:

  • Introduction (for those who have never ridden)
  • Assessment (for those with some previous experience, wanting to move towards a course)
  • Full licence refresher (for those who passed their test last century and haven't ridden since!)
  • Or any combination of the above that suits you.

Either way, the lesson takes around 90 minutes and will cover basic bike control.

Once you have completed the lesson, you will sit down with your instructor and discuss the best way forward for you to achieve your ultimate goal.

Whether that is just the CBT course, a full licence course or a full licence refresher on a bigger bike, the advice given will be based on your actual riding ability and not on a conversation over the phone!

If you book this lesson as part of any course, the lesson is free of charge. If you feel that you would like to book the lesson separately, we would simply ask you for a £25 deposit, which will then be deducted from your course price when you book.

N.B. We are fully covered on our insurance to offer the introduction lesson to those approaching their 16th birthday, so you don't have to wait until you are 16 to get the wheels turning!

Bike hire, helmet, jacket, gloves and waterproofs are all provided free of charge.
